Jeweler Gerald Peters is Proud to Be a Main Sponsor for the Annual Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund Winter Bash

January 30th, 2020

Heroes are helpers and helpers are heroes. That's the premise behind the Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund. Carl V. Bini was an 18-year veteran of the New York City Fire Department who, having been assigned to Rescue 5 on Staten Island, tragically lost his life on September 11th, 2001. The fund, created by his friends and family, was dedicated to this fallen hero and strives to continue performing good work in his name.

Made to give back to the community that Carl Bini loved, the memorial fund is uniquely adapted to respond to crises in the area. In past years, the Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund has spearheaded a relief effort for Hurricane Sandy victims, worked closely with a local family whose 20-month-old son was in need of a heart transplant, stepped in to fund a Staten Island youth basketball league that now serves 900 children, and lead a campaign to bring $35,000 in funds to P.S. 37, a Staten Island special needs school.

The fund continues to do far more than that, and Gerald Peters, a Staten Island-based jeweler is proud to announce that it's one of the main sponsors for the Annual Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund Winter Bash. On February 1st, the fund will be holding a reception in the Nicotra's Ballroom at The Hilton Garden Inn. Tickets are $200, and guests will be dined and entertained by the evening's cocktail hour, gourmet meal, and prizes, followed by a silent auction and raffle. Those who have entered the raffle by purchasing tickets have an opportunity to win amazing treasures, including 2-carat diamond earrings and a men's Yacht-Master Rolex watch, both donated by Gerald Peters.

Gerald Peters, as both a sponsor of the event and a longtime member of the Staten Island community, encourages readers to purchase a ticket and attend this exciting event by contacting the organization at (718) 412-1851 or by visiting the Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund website. Tickets can still be purchased, and as an organization that puts 85 cents of every dollar back into the community—something the Charity Navigator marks as a perfect score in terms of administrative overhead—one can trust that the Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund is a worthwhile cause for anyone looking to do good.
