SEEDS OF GREATNESS

The celebrated jeweler we know today was humbly founded in 1982 by a young and ambitious Jerry Amerosi Sr. in Brooklyn’s Ceasar’s Bay Bazaar. Amerosi was inspired to dive into the jewelry industry after learning from a mentor the ins and outs of buying and selling gold, with the goal of making fine jewelry accessible to the patrons of Brooklyn, New York. The jeweler, once known as Gold Mine, began as a single showcase of children’s charms and later expanded to a freestanding location on 18th Avenue, where Amerosi added “Gerald Peters” to the name, after his two sons, Gerald and Peter.

THE METAMORPHOSIS

After great success as a freestanding jewelry store in Brooklyn, Gerald Peters Goldmine sought expansion and moved to the lush borough of Staten Island in 1996. In that same year, the influential Rolex Submariner 16613 watch was created. Timepiece enthusiasts relished the creation of a device that at once embodied precision, quality, and style. As luxury jewelry became more accessible in the bustling surrounding areas like Manhattan, New Jersey, and Brooklyn, Gerald Peters Goldmine pushed to provide the same accessibility in the Staten Island area. Introducing a buying experience like no other, the store had just begun to break ground.
